Three days left to the end….
Do we really have a few days left before an apocalyptic end-of-days descends upon us all on December 21?
A fate foretold by ancient misinterpreted hieroglyphs and perpetuated by many doomsday believers, the Mayan doomsday prophecy only represents the end of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar.
QUESTION:
Is it true that the planets will align come December 21 and we are all doomed?
ANSWER:
There are no planetary alignments in the next few decades and even if these alignments were to occur, their effects on the Earth would be negligible. One major alignment occurred in 1962, for example, and two others happened during 1982 and 2000. Each December the Earth and Sun align with the approximate center of the Milky Way Galaxy but that is an annual event of no consequence.”
QUESTION:
Does the Mayan calendar really end in December 2012?
ANSWER:
Just as the calendar you have on your kitchen wall does not cease to exist after December 31, the Mayan calendar does not cease to exist on December 21, 2012. This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period but then — just as our calendar begins again on January 1 — another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar.
Enough of all this nonsense!

Le décompte continu
Selon le calendrier maya, le 21 décembre prochain marquera la fin du monde tel que nous le connaissons.
En ce qui me concerne, point n’est besoin de cet artifice pour vous annoncer que 2013 sera une année catastrophique dans biens des domaines. Bouleversements en tous genres, sociaux, politiques, économiques, géopolitiques, écologiques….
Tous ces évènements engendreront une prise de conscience universelle de la réalité systémique factuelle et actuelle de notre monde.
Les perceptions émotionnelles disparaitront peu à peu de notre univers collectif pour faire face à une nouvelle réalité: ce qui est, ce qui a été et ce qui sera.

Comme pour tant d’autres !
La fin du monde est proche, c’est ce que semble nous révéler un manuscrit attribué à Nostradamus le prophète le plus célèbre et controversé de l’histoire du monde.
Alors qu’elle faisait des recherches sur des manuscrits anciens, la journaliste Enza Massa a découvert un livre datant de 1629, intitulé: Nostradamus Vaticinia Code. À sa grande surprise, le nom « Michel de Nostredame » était inscrit à l’intérieur et comportait une préface et une dédicace signées Nostradamus. Ce “Vaticinia Nostradami” est aujourd’hui considéré comme les ultimes prophéties de Nostradamus sur la fin du monde tel que nous le connaissons.
Dans la préface, Nostradamus explique pourquoi il ne dévoile pas plus clairement les importants changements à venir, pourquoi ses prédictions ne sont pas plus explicites : « … Les gouvernements, les sectes, et les pays feront l’objet de changements radicaux. Les personnes au pouvoir aujourd’hui, monarques, chefs de secte et de religions, pourraient trouver les événements à venir si éloignés de leurs propres imaginations qu’ils seraient amenés à condamner non seulement les faits révélés mais aussi les hommes qui les annoncent »

2012, une année funeste pour la presse écrite
Les journaux des pays développés ne retrouveront jamais les niveaux de lectorat et de publicité d’autrefois et le pire demeure à venir.
Le 7 décembre dernier, le Financial Times Deutschland, faute de rentabilité, publiait son dernier numéro. Jeudi le 6 décembre, l’hebdomadaire américain Newsweek annonçait des coupes féroces dans ses effectifs : le journal cessera d’être imprimé fin 2012 pour n’exister que sur Internet.
Et partout ailleurs dans le monde, pour tous les journaux des pays développés, autant en Europe comme en Amérique, la situation n’est pas plus rose. En Espagne, tout comme pour l’El Mundo, il y a peu de temps, c’est maintenant au tour de l’El Pais d’annoncer un plan de restructuration et de licenciement touchant près du tiers de ses effectifs. Même scénario pour l’Allemagne où, à la mi-novembre, le Frankfurter Rundschau déposait son bilan.
Virages technologiques, fermeture de titres, basculement vers le numérique, 2012 se voudra une année des plus sombres pour l’ensemble des journaux imprimés du monde occidental. Pas un mois ne passe sans qu’une publication papier, faute de rentabilité, dans un effort ultime de survie souvent tardif, n’annonce son passage au numérique.
Malheureusement, comme beaucoup trop de mes preneurs voudraient bien le croire, la crise économique actuelle n’est pas cyclique, elle est structurelle et les journaux des pays développés ne retrouveront jamais les niveaux de lectorat et de publicité d’autrefois. L’Internet, la multiplication des sources d’information gratuite, la prolifération des technologies sans fils et l’exploitation commerciale à des fins publicitaires de ces nouveaux médias, ont profondément modifié les habitudes et des consommateurs et des lecteurs.
Plus d’un milliard de téléphones intelligents et de tablettes numériques devraient être vendus dans le monde en 2013, une révolution technologique qui bouleverse le modèle d’affaires de la presse traditionnelle, dont les revenus publicitaires s’effondrent tous les jours, constamment au profit des médias électroniques et télévisuels.
Le pire demeure à venir et l’année 2013 m’en sera témoin.

On February 12, 2012, discussing The Mayan Calendar and the nearby “predicted” end of the world, I wrote:
“ … Close to the end of the year, … for a small minority of troubled individuals, their belief will develop into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
In their misguided certainty that the world will actually end, resorting to extreme or illegal behavior, they will put themselves and others at risk.
Yes indeed, while there will be a brief spike in the number of murders, rapes, accidents and suicides worldwide, for the vast majority of rational people, December 21st, 2012 will pass without incident and life will continue as normal on December 22nd.”
Looking back at my upcoming predictions, I can only hope that I was wrong then and yesterday.

The Mayan Calendar
The ancient Mayan calendar ends in six days causing mixed reactions all over the world, as some believe it may mean the end of the world and civilization.
As the end of the ancient Mayan calendar just means that humanity is about to embark on a new era, thousands are now flocking in Mexico and Central America to celebrate and welcome the “End Of The World” predicted, as many believe, to happen on December 21.
Years ago, hieroglyphs of a “Doomsday” prophecy found at an ancient Mayan site in Tortuguero, Mexico have sparked fear in many and, since then, the “End of World” frenzy has made big money for those capitalizing on the predicted date of December 21, 2012.
While the Mayas never believed that the world would end one day, it is well engraved in most of the people, particularly in the Western world, that this will happen. The idea that the world will end soon is a very strong belief in Western cultures. Isn’t it written in the Bible?
The Mayans had a cyclical concept of time based on astrological observation, not an end of the world concept of time and were no strangers to the concept of “Galactic Alignment”.
Whatever the case may be, the date is almost here and …
